The Haining

Today, we had a class excursion to The Haining in Selkirk. We went last year but that was more for observational drawing for our Visual Recording unit. This time we went to see multiple galleries, there was some interesting work and I think it's always more of an eye opener when you get to see all the different layers and textures of a painting up close.

I took quite a number of photographs and out of the ones I did like, I decided to change them from colour to monotone, I prefer it to colour. Not because it's restricting or harder to take a colour photograph, but it brings out focal points more and gives a depth that colour cannot.
